What are the difference between Concealers and foundations?

I need something to cover up my acne scar that I can buy at a cvs or rite aid. My mom did it for me all i knew was that she used some water thingy then some cream and a spongeWhat are the difference between Concealers and foundations?
I am not sure about the cream and sponge, Sounds like foundation to me. But you would want to use a concealer. Get one that matches your skin tone. Foundation is just what the name states. The goes on first like ';laying the foundation'; for your makeup. Concealer will hide small blemishes etc. What are the difference between Concealers and foundations?
concealers u put on under the foundation so u will have a clearer complection. foundation u put on over to make it blend in . concealer is for pimples or spots an foundation is for over them so u wont be able to c the concealer
Concealers are heavier than actual foundation. They are formulated to cover spots or small areas. Try maybelline and cover girl. They have wand type concealers that are easy to use. Just dab on and blend with a damp cosmetic sponge. If you need less, wipe with the sponge. If you need more, just re-apply the same way.
concealers is usually extra protection to hide your under eye circles, before applying the foundations. foundations are usually a general usage for the face. also, i would recommend the MAC studio fix foundation, it hides one of my scar on my forehead. hope it helps :)
Hi, Concealers are the ';cover up'; makeup. That is when you apply just a ';dab'; on problem areas...pimples, scars, redness, etc. You can apply it with a q tip, sponge, or it's own applicator. Some concealers are powder, liquid or cream. It depends on the brand you use. Just make sure you match to your face color. Foundation is the makeup that you apply all over your face. It is best to get the best match to your face also. You apply the concealer first to the ';spots'; and blend, Then you apply the foundation over the concealer. I sometimes use a wet wringed out sponge to set my foundation...maybe that is what your mom is talking about. Just make sure you blend everything and go past your jaw line. I hope this helps. :D
Foundation is a light makeup to cover your entire face, it evens out your skin tone to create a base. Concealer/coverup offers a bit more coverage on smaller areas, like on acne or marks you may want to hide

foundation is easily applied with a damp sponge, concealer usually comes in a tube you can just dab on or apply with a little makeup brush
Foundation is for all over coverage, and concealers are for covering specific imperfections. Use them together for the illusion of flawless skin. Concealers are typically a little lighter than your skin so that the light will bounce off your pimple, scar, or whatever you're trying to cover.

If I had to guess, your mom probably used water to help the cream concealer go on smoother and lighter (and applied it with a sponge), but the only way to know for sure about that is to ask your mom.

If you do use a sponge, make sure you throw them away regularly because they're a breeding ground for bacteria!
th e cream and the sponge is liquid foundation foundation is the stuf you put all over you face and concealer is used for one little spot but you can prabably use a sponge for that too it depends on what kind you get hope this helps you
